Today’s episode of Supervizuelna in the Studio takes you into the studio of artist Nina Ivanović. We last spoke with Nina at Jugošped, shortly before she had to move out, and again on the eve of the 60th October Salon. Now, more than a year later, we find ourselves in her current workspace in Šećerana. Nina spoke with us about her professional journey so far—her work, exhibitions, and residencies—as well as about the very practical realities of finding, renting, and adapting studio spaces. She showed us how her working process functions, which tools she uses (both industrial and handmade, purpose-built ones), what materials she works with, how she shapes them, and how much collaboration is required to fully realize a project from concept to completion. A particularly compelling part of the conversation focused on the sources of inspiration in her life, especially those connected to the environment—rivers and other natural resources, their devastation and pollution, as well as the resistance and activism of local communities in the struggle against their further destruction. You can watch our latest episode on the Supervizuelna YouTube channel, as well as via the following link.
