U novoj epizodi Supervizuelne u studiju posetile smo radni prostor umetnice Aleksandre Mihajlović. Razgovarale smo o njenom stvaralaštvu, radu u kolektivu i pristupu fotografiji, a imale smo priliku da vidimo i brojne rekvizite i materijale koje koristi u procesu rada. Aleksandra se bavi dizajnom, fotografijom i članica je kolektiva Belgrade Raw. Tokom razgovora podelila je sa nama uvide u odnos koji gradi sa subjektima svojih fotografija i objasnila na koji način on oblikuje finalni izgled i utisak fotografije. In the new episode of Supervizuelna in the Studio, we visited the studio of artist Aleksandra Mihajlović. We talked about her creative practice, working within a collective, and her approach to photography. We also had the opportunity to see various props and materials she uses in her artistic process. Aleksandra works in the fields of design and photography and is a member of the Belgrade Raw collective. During the conversation, she shared insights into the relationships she builds with the subjects of her photographs and explained how these connections influence the final appearance and overall impression of the image. Privlače me trenuci koji deluju pomalo off. Nežni, apsurdni ili nelagodni. Uvek postoji neki obrt, nešto što narušava ravnotežu. Reagujem instinktivno, delujem brzo.
Dolazim iz Beograda, grada koji je u stalnoj tranziciji. Tamo ništa ne traje dugo, sve se neprestano menja. Poput mog grada, ni ja ne ostajem dugo na istom mestu. Zadržim se taman toliko da kažem ono što imam, direktno, ostavim trag i nastavim dalje.
I’m drawn to moments that feel a little off. Tender, absurd, or uncomfortable. There’s always a twist, something that disrupts the balance. I react instinctively, act quickly.
I’m from Belgrade, a city in constant transition. Nothing lasts long there; everything is always changing. Like my city, I don’t stay in one place for too long. I linger just long enough to say what I have to say, directly, leave a mark, and move on.
Aleksandra Mihajlović, poznata i kao Shtroxy, je vizuelna umetnica iz Beograda. Radi u oblasti fotografije i videa, vođena impulsom i osećajem za trenutak. U svom radu koristi rekvizite i svetlo, kombinuje improvizaciju i minimalne intervencije, i ne pravi razliku između stvarnog i insceniranog. Reaguje na prostor, ljude i situacije i snima onako kako to u tom trenutku oseća. Članica je kolektiva Belgrade Raw, sa kojim redovno izlaže u Srbiji i inostranstvu – uključujući London, Beč, Cirih, Sarajevo i Novi Sad. Kroz rad u kolektivu Belgrade Raw aktivno se bavi i načinima izlaganja – razmišlja o prostoru, kontekstu i formi prezentacije, koji postaju deo rada.

Aleksandra Mihajlović, also known as Shtroxy, is a visual artist from Belgrade.
She works in the fields of photography and video, guided by impulse and a sense for the moment. In her work, she uses props and light, combining improvisation with minimal interventions, making no distinction between the real and the staged. She responds to spaces, people, and situations, capturing them as she feels them in that moment. She is a member of the Belgrade Raw collective, with which she regularly exhibits in Serbia and abroad, including London, Vienna, Zurich, Sarajevo, and Novi Sad. Through her work with Belgrade Raw, she is also actively engaged in exploring modes of presentation, thinking about space, context, and form, which all become part of the work itself.
