PROGRAM MEĐUNARODNE KUSTOSKE RADIONICE U BEOGRADU
JAVNO PREDAVANJE NILSA VAN TOMEA
Za više informacija o predstojećem predavanju pratite Supervizuelnu i What Could/Should Curating Do? stranicu.
Informacije o uslovima i načinu prijavljivanja možete naći ovde.
Inicijativom Biljane Ćirić u saradnji sa Supervizuelnom i institucionalnim partnerima poput Muzeja savremene umetnosti, Jugoslovenske kinoteke, Evropski centar za kulturu i debatu – Grad, EVA International – Bijenale savremene umetnosti u Irskoj i Muzej Zepter, kurs predstavlja dugoročni projekat s namerom da osnaži mladu generaciju kustosa i stručnjaka akumuliranjem znanja i uspostavljanjem nove mreže i partnerstva kroz program.

INTERNATIONAL CURATORIAL COURSE IN BELGRADE
PUBLIC LECTURE BY NIELS VAN TOMME
Only a week left until application deadline for international curatorial course What Could/Should Curating Do? Application deadline is April 30th 2018 and you may apply by following the link.
Niels Van Tomme, director at De Appel in Amsterdam (a contemporary art institution that runs a pioneering curatorial programme since 1994), will give an inaugural lecture on June 27th at The Museum of Contemporary Art Belgrade, about the prominent role the Curatorial Programme takes within De Appel’s institutional context. For more information about the lecture please follow Supervizuelna and What Could/Should Curating Do? page. Due to this occasion Niels Van Tomme answers a question regarding – What Could/Should Curating Do?
“In curating one plus one should equal three. Curating departs from a what if, which it firmly positions towards what is. Curating takes scientific methods such as speculation and experimentation as its ruling principles, even though it is not a science. Curating is that which happens when something is about to become known. Yet it should always be done with the full knowledge that it might get things wrong…”
About the course:
Over the course of the three month-long program, international cultural producers will conduct specific workshops related to different aspects of curating at least twice a month, offering participants the opportunity to individually and collectively consider the different institutional aspects that often frame curatorial endeavors. Enrollees will be tasked with a number of writing and other discursive assignments, which will then be published by the online journal of Supervizuelna—a contemporary art magazine—and later in the book produced from the program’s proceedings. For the culmination of the course, participants will propose a collective exhibition and will also be tasked with working on the accompanying publication. Information about the terms and application requirements you can find here.
The course is long term project initiated by Biljana Ćirić together with Supervizuelna, with the following institutions as project partners: The Yugoslav Film Archive Museum, The Museum of Contemporary Art Belgrade, GRAD—European Center for Culture and Debate, EVA International – Ireland’s Biennial and Zepter Museum.
Project was supported by: Goethe Institute in Belgrade, Istituto Italiano di Cultura Belgrado, Embassy of Sweden, Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Embassy of Ireland in Greece, EU Info Centre; Eugster || Belgrade, Rima Gallery, Zepter Hotel, Royal Inn Hotel.
